Problems:Opportunity to grow and become successful
Emmanuel-Adeosun Blog Post: Problems

Everyone living under the sun today has problems but what differentiates us all is how we respond them. One can decide to find solution to his problems in order to get ahead in life, while another man decides to sit down and cry about having so much problems and even giving excuses as to why he's not successful. I discovered our problems are not so different, they quite similar but it's our solutions that are different. We live in a world where everyone wants to be happy forever, they seek comfort, they never want to struggle, they want everything to just go smoothly throughout their lifetime. Many are looking for a world where after being born, everything is just given to them, all the money they need, the cars, the girls, etc but life doesn't work that way. You have to hustle to get whatever you need.

Nothing is for free

Do you know problem solvers are the most successful people on earth? It is because of their attitudes toward problems. In fact if you want to succeed you need to become a problem solver because it is the service (the problem you solve) that you render that you get paid for, that's what puts you ahead of others. Problem solvers see problems as opportunities to grow, to build/create something new, and then they build businesses around a solution to a particular problem. That's the best attitude to adopt when faced with problems. The reason is because it will help you develop a solution mindset, a strong mentality which will lead to a way of tackling the any given issue. You don't solve problems by focusing on them no, it is by pointing out ways to solve the issue and going ahead to take action on your listed solutions. Let me remind you that it is out of unanswered questions (problems) scientists make astounding discoveries, many great men have become who they are due to the hardship (problems) they faced in life, the hardships even fueled them up the ladder.

Have you met people who always talk about their problems, they never seem to be without one issue or the other? You hear them say "if it were not for this problem, I would be this or that", they always have excuses for not getting ahead, or not doing something right. That's a negative attitude toward problems, such attitudes will make you to be defeated by the challenges you meet in life. No one has ever become a better person or a successful person by complaining their way out of problems.

It’s not problems that mess us up. Someone said, “Cripple [a man] and you have Sir Walter Scott. Lock him in prison and you have John Bunyan. Bury him in the snows of Valley Forge and you have George Washington. Raise him in poverty and you have Abraham Lincoln. Strike him down with infantile paralysis and he becomes Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Burn him so severely that doctors say he will never walk again and you have Glen Cunningham, who set the world’s record in 1934 for the outdoor mile. Deafen him and you’ll have Ludwig van Beethoven. Call him a slow learner, retarded, and write him off as uneducatable and you have Albert Einstein.”

This brings me to the conclusion that:

  • There are times when problems come into our lives and we can do nothing to avoid them but they are there for a reason. Only when we have overcome them do we understand why they were there.

  • Obstacles are in our lives to show us the way out, if you don't destroy the obstacles, there's no way you can move forward.

Start today by seeing problems as opportunities to grow and to move ahead and focus on solutions not the problem.
